EKSU gets NUC approval to start six new undergraduate programmes
Find out which six courses EKSU is adding to its academic offerings from the 2027/2028 session following recent NUC approval.

Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, has been given formal approval by the National Universities Commission to start six new undergraduate programmes. The approval arrived in a letter dated 22 October 2026, signed by Dr Ayuba Mohammed, the NUC Acting Director of Academic Planning, on behalf of the commission’s Executive Secretary.
The university will offer BA Christian Theology, BSc Transport Management, BSc Security and Investment Management, BSc Information and Communication Technology, BSc Industrial Mathematics and BSc Criminology from the 2027/2028 academic session. Applications will open for these courses in that session.
The statement, issued on Friday by Adedoyin A.A. on behalf of the Head of Information and Corporate Affairs, said the approval followed a resource verification visit by expert panels. The panels assessed the university’s human and material capacity against national standards.
The NUC letter also noted that the programmes are not authorised for part‑time delivery and must retain their approved titles. Vice‑Chancellor Prof Babatola Ayodele welcomed the decision, describing it as a step toward the university’s vision of academic excellence and innovation. He thanked Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his support, saying the approval reflects the governor’s commitment to strengthening the institution’s academic standards and global relevance.
