Blog terms
Last updated 25 October 2026
These terms apply when you read, share or take part in the myunipal blog at myunipal.app/blog (the "Blog"), run by MyUniPal ("we", "us"). By using the Blog you agree to them. The MyUniPal study app has its own terms at myunipal.app/terms.
1. What the Blog is
The Blog shares news, opportunities and practical advice for students and young people in Nigeria. Posts are for general information. They are not legal, financial, medical or professional advice; for decisions that matter, check with the organisation concerned or a qualified person.
2. How we write posts, and accuracy
- News posts are written in our own words from official announcements and trusted news outlets, which we name and link in every post. We use tools, including AI, to help find, check and write stories, and a person reviews every post before it is published.
- We work to be accurate, but mistakes can happen and details (such as dates or requirements) can change after we publish. Always confirm important details with the official source.
- If you see a mistake, tell us using the link at the end of the post or by email. We will correct or remove it quickly when needed.
3. Opportunities, jobs and scholarships
- We share opportunities run by other organisations. We don't run them, choose who is accepted, or guarantee them.
- Always apply through the official page. Never pay anyone to apply, to be shortlisted or to "secure" a place, and never share your passwords or bank PINs. Genuine programmes don't ask for this.
- If an opportunity we shared looks like a scam, tell us and we will check it and take it down if needed.
4. Accounts, comments and stories you send us
- Reading the Blog never needs an account. To comment or reply, you sign in: with a free blog account (anyone can have one, student or not), with Google, or with your MyUniPal study app account.
- Use your real name, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for what is posted from it.
When you comment or send us a story, you agree that you will not post anything that:
- is false or misleading, or presents a rumour as fact;
- insults, harasses, threatens or bullies anyone, or attacks people for their ethnicity, religion, gender, disability or any other part of who they are;
- shares someone else's private information, phone number or photos without their permission;
- is spam, advertising, a scam, or links to other sites;
- breaks the law, or infringes someone else's copyright or other rights;
- pretends to be someone else.
- You are responsible for what you post. We may edit for length or clarity, hide or remove comments, and block accounts that break these terms, without notice.
- When you send us a story, you confirm it is true to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share it. You let us check it, write about it and publish it, and credit you only if you agreed to be credited.
- By posting a comment, you let us show it on the Blog and in shares of the post.
5. Our content and sharing
- The posts, design and branding of the Blog belong to MyUniPal, except material from others, which is credited (for example photos used under their licences).
- You are welcome to share links to our posts and short quotes with credit to the myunipal blog and a link. Please don't copy whole posts or present them as your own.
- Names and logos of the organisations we report on belong to them, and mentioning them doesn't mean they endorse us.
6. Complaints and takedown
If you believe a post is wrong about you, infringes your copyright, or should be removed for another reason, email support@myunipal.app with the link to the post and what you want changed. We will look at it promptly and correct, update or remove the post where that is the right thing to do.
7. Advertising and sponsored posts
- The Blog may show adverts. Adverts are provided by advertisers or advertising partners, and we don't endorse the products or services they offer. Check carefully before buying or signing up.
- Sponsored posts, if we publish any, are always clearly labelled as sponsored.
- If an advert looks like a scam or is offensive, tell us and we will report or remove it.
- How advertising uses data is explained in the Blog privacy policy.
8. Links to other websites
Posts link to official pages, sources and other websites. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
9. Limitation of liability
The Blog is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, MyUniPal is not liable for any loss arising from relying on a post, an opportunity, an advert or another website, or from the Blog being unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will show the new date at the top of this page. Using the Blog after a change means you accept it.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Nigeria, after we have first tried to resolve it with you informally.
