Nollywood actor and engineering enthusiast Emeka Ike will host the third edition of the National Automation Prize 2026. Organised by Advanxis Technologies and Process Automation Limited, the national engineering and technology competition combines innovation, practical problem-solving and reality television.

The event runs under the theme Build for Nigeria, Automate for Scale, Compete with the World. NAP 2026 celebrates Nigerians building solutions for industrial productivity and everyday challenges in manufacturing, energy, agriculture, water, security and public infrastructure.

The competition features individual and higher institution categories with a total prize reward of over fifty million naira. The higher institution category includes building state-of-the-art digitalised equipment as well as training and mentorship for the first three top institutions.

Managing Director of Advanxis Technologies, Engr. Anthony James, stated that the initiative aims to discover, celebrate and support Nigeria's brightest engineering and technology talents. Emeka Ike stated that it is time to give engineers, inventors and technology creators the same national applause given to talent in music, film and sports.

Planned television outreach includes major national television and cable television, though specific broadcast arrangements remain subject to confirmation. Previous editions were held in 2024 and 2025, establishing a foundation where participants are awarded millions of naira in cash prizes.
