Taraba State University ASUU declares indefinite strike, halts all lectures
The union has ordered a total stop to teaching, online and on‑campus, until the government addresses salary arrears and the 2025 agreement.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) branch at Taraba State University has confirmed its indefinite strike. Members are instructed to stop all teaching, including online lectures, project supervision and teaching practice supervision.
Branch chair Dr Garba Mbave Joshua called for unity, discipline and commitment to the strike. The union says the action will continue until the government engages meaningfully on the issues that triggered it.
The statement warns that any teaching, supervision or lectures, whether online or on campus, must not take place. Using alternative platforms would weaken the collective bargaining position.
The strike began on 12 October 2026 over the implementation of the 2025 Federal Government‑ASUU agreement and unpaid salary arrears from January 2026, disrupting examinations and the academic calendar.
