Each grade earns points: A is 5, B is 4, C is 3, D is 2, E is 1, F is 0. Multiply each course's points by its units, add them up, and divide by your total units. Your GPA does this for one semester; your CGPA does it for every semester so far. That is why courses with more units move your CGPA more.
Some schools have no E grade, so anything below 45 is an F. Your handbook or result slip shows which one your school uses.
